Wednesday

Well another week is moving by quickly.
On Wednesday my morning started with a big presentation. The kids were less than impressed. Half way thru they journeyed outside to play together.
Chatting over snacks. Frozen 2 is turned up outside. While Kathryn went for an outfit change, David noticed a dump truck.
Grandpa Dwight dumped a load of rock. (Notice everyone practicing good social distancing).
Life on the farm.
Someone's not impressed with homeschooling.i think swim wear is there favorite attire.
Thank you Aunt Vanessa, Uncle Kevin , Luke, Lily, Jude, and Jack for the Easter gifts!
Dinner advanture = saurbraten and spaetzle!

Pop Up Storm

Tuesday night the heat brought on a sudden rain shower with small hail. It just lasted minutes, but the kids took advantage of time to swim outside!

Monday and Tuesday

Sorry. It's a bit to post these recaps daily, but I want to try to document as much as possible. I rearranged my schedule a bit to start the morning with two hours of learning with the kids, then work. They were not pumped about the change. David just wants to play all day.

Monday started with Kathryn's special day request. Notice the beach inspired clothing and smilely face toast.
A highlight was Kathryn's first class zoom meeting. They are planning another for Wednesday.
We also had an unexpected surprise. Someone kept peering through my office window.
All day we had wild turkeys looking in.
Working hard on writing their own stories. An activity Kathryn dreamed up.
More dance time.
Cleaning day on Tuesday!
Our goal (meaning mine) is to not miss trash day tomorrow for the third time.
Some indoor projects while I did 8 hours on 3 different webinars.
The last I finished outside, because it's such a gorgeous day and we need this fresh air.
Golfing
Theatric dance to the whole Frozen 2 sound track. I'm sure our neighbors love us because they needed to hear it from the yard.
Tractor driving while playing space. The puppies are Strelka and Bella.
Then the pirates found the water guns. I haven't been shot yet, but I've been threatened several times.

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday and Sunday were packed days on the farm. Spring is definitely not slowing down, which means John's really busy.
The kids were happy for another play day!
Kathryn almost beat me. She was only 3 points shy of winning.
Thanks to Grandma Deb for dropping off some early Easter presents!
David helped me add compost and re-mulch the raised beds. Getting ready for planting.
The highlight (for me at least) was dinner on Saturday night. We got dinner from Popolis as part of their virtual wine dinner. I would have loved to ask everyone to dress up while I went to grab dinner, but they were still wrapping up outside. However much to my (huge) surprise, John had the kids dressed up, music playing, and sweet presents the kids made for me. It was an extra special evening I truly treasure.

Sunday was filled with virtual church, Corona mask making, and more time to play.
In this picture, Kathryn and David are getting everyone ready for a flight back to Turks and Caicos! (Yes please)
Other highlights were Dwight and Kelly coming to see the bridge. More work in the raised beds. And a surprise game from CRBT to pass the time.

Friday

The day started with both little people waking early, whole I was trying to work early.
Good thing they are cute!
They had 5 school activities to complete to earn movie afternoon. Let's just say Kathryn was very focused on completing the five.
David was more focused on having fun. Kathryn earned the movie time while David earned a long nap. All we're happy with the outcome.

Play continued into the evening.
Color sorting the trucks at Kathryn's suggestion.
Playing with toys that haven't made an appearance in a while. Also asking what happened to other toys they vaguely remember.  🤷
Kathryn requested another game of cribbage.
David sure loves the dam!

And as a PSA.
Saturday will have facemask making along with Easter decorating!

Thursday!

The theme that kept emerging over Thursday was 'this day is going so fast'! I said it, Kathryn said it numerous times, and David just wanted more time to play with his dam.

I started my day (after quiet time and working out) with calls and texts to family and friends.

The kids decided to pitch in to the clean the house.
They we're so enthusiastic to use the spray bottles.
We cleaned a lot more and longer than I anticipated because I wasn't going to pass up eager helpers.

They were also highly motivated to fill their 10 frame for a special reward. They picked going to see Daddy at the nursery for the reward.
Kathryn working on regrouping.
David ordered his number sticky notes (we did a numbers scavenger hunt on Tuesday).
Then a bit more white board time after long naps.
Not sure what is happening here, but they were discussing something. Then it was finally off to the nursery!
While the crew was digging, Dad was fixing field tile.
Kathryn and David we're very eager to help.
David said this was the best because he got to do work and get dirty 😂.
At this point I have a sweet video, it's hard to hear, but David is asking/telling John that it will be great when he works at the nursery too. That they could work together every single day and drive tractors together and fix things. 💚
While this isn't a daily activity at the nursery, the field tile needed fixed before the rain next week and the trees were dug so John could get to the tile. The kids though, thought it was the most awesome time. As an added bonus, they got to ride home with Dad with the windows down the whole way. Absolutely on cloud nine!

In other news, our school is now closed thru the end of the month. I'm personally very happy with the decision, as I don't think I could have sent them on the 13th.

One other update I don't have a picture for, we had pork tacos for dinner. The pork roast was shredded and stewed in taco seasoning, onions, garlic, and peppers. Highly recommend it, it was a huge hit!

Happy Hump Day!

The only studious activity today was coloring flowers. The asked for a fun play day with the 'dam'. And that's what they did. All morning the played together. Then lunch and a 2 hour nap.
Followed by more play in the afternoon, including time outside.
Every since Monday, it's felt like Wednesday to me; now today I kept thinking it was Thursday. It's been a bit hard to mark the days this week.

John's crew is working hard digging trees the last few days. Our neighbor is finishing combining his corn from last season. Just another day from the Farmstead.
